EPW - Brockbank's, London, virgule fusee, 55mm, approximately 16K gold (tested, exhibiting slow fade of 18K solution on stone) OF original case with spring loaded rear released via pendant button, signed gilt cuvette attached to removable brass inner mvt ring, white enamel dial, KWKS, virgule escapement, gilt mvt with pierce and foliate scrolled balance cock, regulator scale with charming hare and snail engravings, s#1488 on cuvette. Comes as pictured with a key and with a small 14K gold chain having gold-filled swivel. Gross weight of assembled watch 75.7 dwt (117.9 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: NR, when winding is attempted the hands travel counterclockwise in concert with the motion of the key and when the key is removed the hands advance quickly back clockwise, overhaul needed, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, clouding to gilt surface; nearly flawless dial with two very small fine scratches to upper center, minuscule edge flake under bezel at 8; fine hands; case rear opening well wide of 90 degrees, small metal split to one side of hinge tube, case shows light wear, scattered fine scratches and profuse micro-fine scratches, scattered dents and dings to rear; tight bow; domed bull's-eye glass crystal with some fine scratches and small finish imperfections.
